Lightyears Pallas Pendant Lamp
Inspired by the scale and design of historic chandeliers, Pallas is a substantial lamp. A modern pendant, it is designed to provide light and shadow through its vertical slits and horizontal layers. Its internal structure consists of acid treated opal glass to emit a diffuse light. Best suited to a large room or grand architectural project, it is available in 2 high gloss finishes; black or white.
In 2006 Fabian Baumann and Sönke Hoof founded the Berlin-based design studio Formfjord. Fabian is an engineer with a designer's heart and Sönke is a designer with an engineer’s mind. Together, they strive to create products that function – technologically, economically and emotionally. In their design work for Lightyears, they have focused on the interplay of light and shadow, as this is critical for the definition of form and space. Shadow yields contrast, obviously, and this makes light functional.
