Artemide Nessino Table Lamp

The futuristic shape and colours of the Nessino Table Lamp were originally conceived in the 1960’s by Giancarlo Mattioli and Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti Città Nuova. A smaller version of the Nesso Table Lamp which forms part of the permanent collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Museum of Modern Art, it is equally symbolic of mid-century design.

Giancarlo Mattioli was born in Bologna and rose to fame during the 1950’s and 1960’s with his iconic designs. He founded the Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti Città Nuova together with Pierluigi Cervellati, Umberto Maccaferri, Franco Morelli, Gianpaolo Mazzucato and Mario Zaffagnini.
