Designed by Sebastian Summa to illuminate large dining spaces, NL12 is a pendant light composed of twelve glass tubes, where a single hidden light source diffuses illumination through refraction and prism effects. Free from visible wires, LEDs, or structural elements, it appears as a radical yet poetic beam of light suspended in space. Supported by black gallows-inspired brackets, the 1.3-metre-long fixture combines artisanal craftsmanship with an industrial aesthetic, while its movable glass tubes allow for customisable compositions.
Sebastian Summa was born in Bavaria and studied design at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences before settling in Berlin. Before entering the world of design, he trained as a blacksmith and worked in metal fabrication, developing a deep connection to steel, scrap metal, and craftsmanship. Working from his East Berlin studio, Summa creates timeless pieces shaped by a hands-on, artisanal approach where material and process remain at the heart of his practice.
