Gubi 9205 Table Lamp

The 9205 Table Lamp is a classic, almost archetypal, table lamp with an unmistakable Tynell aesthetic. Elegant and slender, the lamp’s apparently simple form conceals an extraordinary degree of craftsmanship and highly skilled hand-making.

Industrial designer Paavo Tynell was a pioneer of Finnish lighting design. At the forefront of the production of early electrical lighting fixtures in Finland, he collaborated with designer Alvar Aalto in the 1930’s. Tynell’s designs were derivative of a traditional aesthetic with a modern sensibility.
