Santa & Cole Sistema Fonda Pendant Lamp

In the early 1990s, artist, designer and Santa & Cole founder Gabriel Ordeig Cole was commissioned to design the lighting for a large restaurant – Fonda Europa in Granollers (Barcelona). The aim was to achieve a pleasant, consistent colouration to accompany diners’ conversations under excellent lighting. Through the use of segments of one or three shades, and three types of connectors between them an entire lighting system is arranged, based on linear tube structures on which varying types of shades may be placed.

The Santa & Cole Fonda Pendant Lamp can allow from 1 up to a maximum of 18 light sources in any combination of shade type and colour. The canopy and connection configuration are also customisable depending on specific requirements. Gabriel Ordeig Cole gained a Bachelor of Arts at the East Ham College and studied at the Cardiff Arts School in London. Ordeig Cole was a precursor to a new kind of lighting based on wood, the traditional card shade, and the reflection of light and colour.
