Santa & Cole Liceo Pendant Lamp

Designed for the restoration of the Liceo, Barcelona’s grand opera theatre that was engulfed in flames in 1994, the Liceo Pendant Lamp has a hollow bronze mesh shade attached to a steel shaft. The lamp incorporates a large source of light at the bottom which casts light upwards, creating a glow reminiscent of a ball of fire.

Born in 1960 in Salt (Girona, Spain), Lluís Dilmé studied architecture at the ETSAB (Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona.) Before ending his studies, he started collaborating at Ignasi de Solà-Morales’ studio. Ignasi de Solà-Morales was born into a family of architects. He graduated in Philosophy and got his doctorate in Architecture in 1977. His study and work in the restoration of historical buildings and town centres resulted in one of his most outstanding projects: the reconstruction of the Liceu Opera theatre in Barcelona.

Xavier Fabré works as an architect and teaches architecture. Among other projects, he has collaborated in the project of rebuilding the Gran Teatre del Liceu of Barcelona, by designing its furniture. Serra is an interior architect who has undertaken major projects such as refurbishing Barcelona's Liceu Theatre and Palace of Pedralbes, in addition to being an expert in applied arts and a curator.
