Crafted from steel and aluminium, the Biny table lamp embodies efficiency, simplicity, sobriety, and elegance in a timeless design. Originally designed in 1957 by Jacques Biny, the lamp delivers both soft and functional lighting tailored for comfortable reading. Its adjustable fins, controlled by a precision wheel, allow the light to be directed exactly where illumination is needed.

Jacques Biny was one of the leading French lighting designers of the Trente Glorieuses, distinguished not only as a designer but also as a manufacturer dedicated to modern, mass-produced lighting. Collaborating with notable designers such as Michel Buffet, Gustave Gauthier, Jean Boris Lacroix, and Charles Ramos, he helped shape a new era of contemporary French lighting design. After graduating from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and beginning his career as an interior decorator in Valence, Biny returned to Paris in 1950 and founded his modern lighting workshop, Luminalite, five years later.
