Gubi Gräshoppa Fabric Table Lamp

The iconic Gräshoppa Table Lamp was first produced in 1947 by the feminine pioneer Greta M. Grossman. The unique tripod stand of the lamp is tilted backward and gives the impression that the lamp is somehow alive. Being one of Grossman’s most iconic designs, the authentic lamp has an elongated conical shade that rotates to direct light where needed. Reimagined with an elongated shade in natural canvas, this new edition brings a fresh material expression to the lighting collection.

Greta M. Grossman was an innovator in the male-dominated worlds of mid-century industrial and interior design and architecture, gaining international recognition for her work. With the onset of the Second World War, she emigrated to California where she worked as an architect and was one of the first to the bring the Scandinavian modern aesthetic to southern California's burgeoning modernist scene.
